curling is for everyone!

Curling is an inclusive and easy-to-learn sport!

We welcome wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments to come curl with us.

Join us to learn the fundamentals of the game and practice with our head coach, Jeff Snover, a TC Curling Club member and former Team USA Wheelchair Curling Development team member.

Our club leagues are open to people of all mobility levels and include standard, stick and wheelchair curlers playing together.

  • Yes! Clean wheelchair tires are a must. Knobby tires tend to hold a lot of dirt and are not suitable for the ice; everyday non-aggressive tires are best. No “sport chairs” with a lot of camber. Must have working wheelchair locks “brakes.”

Power chairs are fine on the ice as are power scooters.

  • The emphasis is on having fun while learning the sport of curling!

We begin with a short lesson in our lounge and then spend the bulk of our time on the ice, practicing drills and gameplay.

    • Dress in warm, flexible layers - the on-ice temperature is around 40 degrees! Please no fleece as is sheds fibers and damages our ice. Light, flexible coats and gloves are encouraged.

    • Water bottles are also encouraged and can be refilled at the club.

    • We provide all necessary curling equipment and have some demo wheelchairs available.

  • We invite caregivers to help out on the ice if they want to or just stay to watch or work in our lounge, we have free wifi!

We request that any participant who may need help following directions to have a caregiver to assist our volunteer instructors.

Curling is a team sport and we welcome anyone who wants to be “on the team.” Anyone who goes out onto the ice must sign a waiver.

Please enjoy our space and clean up after yourself.
